Kinetic energy formula
KE = ½ × m × v². Mass in kg, velocity in m/s → Joules. KE scales quadratically with speed — double speed = 4× energy.
Potential energy formula
PE = m × g × h. On Earth g = 9.81 m/s². Raising a 10 kg mass by 1 m = 98.1 J of stored energy.
