Projectile motion calculator
Calculate range, max height, time of flight. Ideal projectile physics.
How to use this tool
- 1
Enter launch velocity
Initial speed of the projectile.
- 2
Enter launch angle
0° = horizontal, 45° = max range, 90° = straight up.
- 3
See trajectory
Range, max height, time of flight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why 45° for max range?
When launched and landing at same height on flat ground. Different angles optimal for different terrain (e.g. launching from cliff).
Ignoring air resistance
This calculator uses ideal projectile physics (no drag). Real projectiles decay due to air resistance, especially at high velocity.
